The Ucluelet Aquarium is centrally located above the intertidal zone next to the promenade. Inside the building is designed around a central saltwater pool that provides underwater viewing of BC's marine life. The majority of the displays are in tanks interconnected by a flexible system of pipes and valves that distribute the salt water from the inlet below. Large windows overlook the Ucluelet Harbour. Below the undulating green roof, the building form has been inspired by fish shapes.
