The site stretches along the top of a ridge with magnificent mountain views to the east and west. The house lies lengthwise along this axis to maximize views at both ends and preserve a small grove of pine trees to the south. Low-sloped copper-clad curving roofs recall snow drifts while shedding snow and permitting upper floor views.
