Forest Hill House

BUILDING PERMIT STAGE 2026 | 6000 S.F.

Balanced on a steep forested hillside overlooking a rushing creek, this residence is intimately woven into the rugged contours of the mountains above Howe Sound. Designed for a family of avid gardeners, the home’s L-shaped form acts as a protective embrace for a terraced garden and elliptical courtyard on the leeward side of the slope. Inside, a soaring circulation spine follows the ellipse of the courtyard, where double-height glazing draws the garden landscape deep into the home, creating a powerful vertical connection between levels. The plan culminates in the Great Room, where high clerestory windows bathe the home’s primary social hub in natural light, framing the rhythm of daily life against the backdrop of the Pacific Northwest.
